To run the matching service, RTC collects a limited set of information:
- Name — displayed to matched runners so you know who you're meeting.
- Age — used to verify you meet our 18+ requirement and to help with matching.
- Location — collected only while you are actively looking for a match or on a run, to find nearby partners and suggest safe meeting points.
- Photos — used on your profile so matched runners can recognize you in person.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used exclusively to operate the app:
- Matching you with compatible, nearby runners.
- Suggesting safe, public meeting points.
- Improving match quality over time via your Chemistry Score ratings.
- Basic account security and support requests.
We never sell your personal data to third parties. RTC does not run an ad-based business model built on your data.
3. Location & GPS
Your real-time GPS location is never shared directly with other users. It is used solely on our servers to calculate proximity for matching and to recommend a safe, public place to meet — such as a park entrance or landmark. Location data is only collected while the app is actively being used for matching or an in-progress run, not in the background at all times.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Limited data may be shared with service providers who help us operate the app (such as cloud hosting), under strict confidentiality obligations, or if required by law.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@runtoconnect.com. Your account and personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Because RTC currently operates in Warsaw, Poland, you are protected under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent to data processing at any time.

7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to personal data within our team.
8. Children's Privacy
RTC is strictly for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
